MusicBox Project was a 501(c3) non-profit established in 2010 and dissolved in 2020. Its mission was to document and preserve music history while furthering avenues of education, creation and performance. The recordings here are just the tip of the iceberg... There is an extensive collection of audio and video field recordings of over 125 women, their families, friends and traditional communities at the Library of Congress, American Folklife Center in Washington, DC, (The collection was noted as a "Key Acquisition" in 2010's Report to Congress.) The collection was also gifted to the Wilson Library, the University of Mississippi at Oxford in "The Blues Archives."
